WHAT IS LETTERPRESS?

Letterpress is one of the oldest printing techniques

that print by applying pressure to paper.

Before the advent of the modern offset printing, letterpress was the most widely used printing method.

However, in the 20th century,

as the world focused on mass and

high-speed production,

the usage was significantly reduced.

However, in the 90s,

as small press movement had

its revival in Canada, UK and US,

letterpress began to regain its attention.

Letterpress is expanding as artists and

designers are craving the tactile and hands-on characteristics of the process that

offset printing can’t give.

Typical letterpress machines include

Original Heidelberg Platen (also know as Windmill,) Original Heidelberg Cylinder,

a workhorse for more precise and

large-sized press, and a Chandler.

We own all of the above.
